Day 14: The Craft Room/Craft Supplies/Hobby Area

True confessions time: I am not done with my craft room.  Sure, I could clean up the tables and take a pretty "after" picture for my blog, but I really want to do this the right way.  I spent more than an hour yesterday going through my supplies, pulling items that I could give away or sell, but I have many, many hours left!

I was so focused on blowing off my office all week that I completely forgot about today's task.  And for me, it's a big one.  I was tempted to publish this post tomorrow, but I still don't know if I'll be done by then.  If I am (or whenever I finish), I might still post after pictures...we'll see.  Anyway, for the rest of you participating...

Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a whole room for their crafts or hobbies, but most everyone has a place that they keep their supplies.  Whether you sew, scrapbook, knit or paint, your craft of choice likely has lots of "stuff" that goes along with it.

For today's assignment in the Spring Cleaning Challenge, go through your craft and hobby supplies.  Think {realistically} about which items you use and which ones need to go.  If you have a friend with the same hobby, consider passing along your unwanted items or, if you have enough of it, consider selling the lot on eBay.  Several years ago, I sold a ton of old scrapbooking paper, scissors and stamps and made a quick $50.  Unfortunately, I probably spent $200 on everything new, but it wasn't doing me any good sitting unused in my craft space, so I resolved to get rid of it all.

Here are my before pictures...
Before - my workspace (it's hard to work with a Pack 'n' Play in the way!)

Before - the back corner (seemingly organized, but much work to do)

Before - my album/paper/magazine rack (I love this thing, but I must go through and weed out unwanted products)
Before - the closet (and all gift wrapping supplies and crafts-in-progress)

At our garage sale last month, I sold some never-used scrapbooking items and even had a "free" box full of paper, fibers and other materials that I no longer use.  I also bundled old Creaking Keepsakes magazines and sold them in stacks of a year's subscription at a time.  People were thrilled with the second hand items and I made lots of space in my craft room.
