Kaylin: "Hey Mom - I unloaded the dishwasher without complaining or arguing. Just like the Bible says!"
--------------------------
Ryan: "Kaylin, you can't lay down in the backseat while we're driving. Because if we get in a car accident, your neck will fall off."
--------------------------
(after giving him a mini-lecture)
Ryan: "You didn't say, 'Do you understand me?' or 'Is that clear?'"
--------------------------
(while Kaylin was on the phone with Mike's mom)
Me: "Hey kids, look out back...it's raining really hard!"
Kaylin: "Grandma, it's raining." (silence - I'm assuming Grandma said, "It's not raining at our house.") "If you just look very carefully out your back door, you'll see rain." (more silence) "Well, if you see the drops on the ground, that's the rain. Because it's raining."
--------------------------
Ryan: "My friends are mostly older than me, so they're all going to die before your friends, Kaylin."
--------------------------
(fighting over a toy)
Ryan: "You've had that for a long time!"
Kaylin: "I'm not done with it yet. You can have it when I'm done."
Ryan: "That's not FAIR!"
Kaylin: "Life's not fair, Ryan..."
--------------------------
(on the phone last week)
Me: "Hold on, Mom. Ryan! Bedspreads are NOT for surfing! Especially not near the stairs. Stop pulling your sister around on that thing - she could fall and really hurt herself. Sorry about that, Mom. Anyway..."
My mom: "Do you realize how funny that sounded on my end???"
--------------------------
Ryan: "Hey Mom, is this guy singing about that he loves God or the devil?"
Me: "What do you think, Ryan?"
Ryan: "Probably God. But that was still mean what he just said on the radio."
Me: "What did they say?"
Ryan: "The guy singing loves God more than Jesus."
Me: "What makes you think that he loves God more than Jesus?"
Ryan: "Because he said, 'I love You more than the Son...' "
(for those who listen to Christian music, he was referring to Matthew West's song, "More," which trails off at the end, "I love you more than the...sun.")

These just made me laugh out loud! I haven't had much to smile about today...I needed it! : )
The last one...man, that was too cute. Kiddo used to sing that song ALL the time when he was 4 and 5. He LOVED it. Brings back memories when I hear it (or read about it). : )
