Halfy Birthday, Jason!

Where have the last six months gone? Jason is getting too big, too fast. I wish I could stop time for a few months to soak up his adorableness. I love, love, LOVE this age. Love it. Love. It.

In the last few weeks, Jason has:

...fallen asleep in some weird places

...started holding his own bottle

...found his feet

...started reaching for toys (and cords...and faces...) with both hands

...started rolling side to side (but still hasn't flipped to his tummy yet)

...started eating rice cereal every day (and bananas last week)

...sleeping in his big brother's room full time now, as of last weekend

...finally started to laugh. (though it's few and far between...when you tickle him, he holds his breath and his face turns red until you stop)

And his hair is getting longer and longer every day. Some days it looks red, others pale blonde. Any votes for what color you think it will be?

The kids and I had a little mini-party for him after school today. He thought no one would notice if he reached to have a little taste, but I'm quicker than he is - I took the picture AND took the cupcake away in a single bound.

Happy 6 months, sweet boy!

(Here's a video of us singing/having a meltdown.)

That is one cute baby you've got there! Where has the time gone, eh?

And I had to laugh at Kaylin in the video, because that is EXACTLY how Ethan would have reacted in that situation... must be something about these almost-4-year-olds?

Fantastic. I love the 'meltdown', but have to ask .... that's not REALLY the definition of 'meltdown' in your house, is it? You're just sugar-coating it, right? Please say yes, otherwise I'm going to find someplace that will revoke my Motherhood License immediately, because I am CLEARLY not worthy!

Speaking of, I can't believe I'm about to start this process all over again...possibly in a matter of DAYS. Yikes! Remind me again what I'm letting myself in for??? :-)

PS - Where the H you been, woman??? I haven't heard from you in AGES!

DM (hey...I like that nickname!) - That is the beginning of a Kaylin meltdown. The high pitched, through-the-lips pre-cry, face turns blotchy, covered eyes, quivering lip. What cracks me up is that as soon as we sang again, she was all smiles, blotchy face and all.

Is it sick that I'm glad I got this 3 year old cry on video? It's SO typical of her now, I don't want the memory to be lost when she moves on to screaming and stamping of feet.
