A {partial} Day in the Life - Spring Break

(5/21/10 - I just found this completely forgotten, unfinished post in my drafts. I don't want to delete it necessarily, so I'm posting it as-is. There are a bunch of random, unexplained pictures in the middle of the post and I'm leaving them there. I'm assuming we bought Ryan's football cleats this day, made pinecone bird feeders and cards, then maybe decorated for Easter?)

I haven't written a "Day in the Life" in quite a while. And since I'm getting back into a rhythm with my life since Jason's arrival, I think a new post is due. Whether or not anyone cares to read these ridiculous details, I enjoy looking back to see a snapshot of what my days looked like at different points in time.

6:30am - Mike brought Jason into our room to eat. My nose was stuffy and my throat hurt; allergies or a cold? No idea, but I'm annoyed at the imposition.

(This is how Jason sleeps now - with his blanket wrapped around his neck up and over his mouth and nose. SO unsafe! But if I pull it off, he manipulates the blanket for 10 minute to get it just right again.)

6:45am - The big kids came bouncing into our room. Kaylin had a sleepover in Ryan's room last night. (despite coming out at 8:30 and 9:00 asking to go back into her own bed...I think she was bored because Ryan fell asleep so quickly)

7:00am - I rolled out of bed and got dressed while Mike got ready for work and packed his gym bag.

7:10am - Ryan asked if they could have a treat for their tea party. I walked into his bedroom to find the tea set out perfectly on the floor. Stuffed animals were filling the 3rd and 4th spots. I brought up some pretzels and granola bites for their PJ tea party. (I'm bummed I didn't think to take a picture)

7:25am - Everyone ate cereal while I rushed to pack Mike's lunch.

8:00am - Ryan dressed up like a pirate - the kids dress up a lot in our house.

8:15am - Ryan wanted me to take a picture of him "being a soccer ball"

4:00 - Ryan asked to feed Jason. He and Kaylin both had a turn. Because he still nurses, this is rare, but I've been needing to supplement at least one of his daytime feedings with a few more ounces of formula recently. It's so helpful to have capable hands in the house other than mine!

6:15pm - The kids frosted and decorated sugar cookies for dessert. Before I took this picture, Ryan stuck his Suns hat onto Jason's head - backward.

7:20pm - The kids ran around wild upstairs, dressed for bed and ready for Mike to read them bedtime stories. I was checking my emails and noticed him online on my Google I.M. This was our conversation...

7:30pm - Mike finally came upstairs to read the kids stories. Just before snapping this picture, Ryan got in trouble for arguing and lost the rest of story time.

8:00pm - Brought a folding table to a friend's house for her garage sale tomorrow. Stayed to pick through her $1 baby boy clothes.

9:00pm - Returned home, watched a few minutes of tv with Mike.

9:20pm - Bored of the tv, went upstairs to check email.

9:45pm - Woke Jason up to feed him, then took Ryan to the bathroom.

10:00pm - On my way to collapse into bed.
