I haven't had a good brain dump in a while. These are all thing floating around in my head that aren't worthy of each getting their own post.
- Most of the information from our old, dead computer was salvaged, but I recently noticed my October picture file is gone, which is when Jason was born. I'm not stressing about it though, especially since I thought all pictures since August were lost forever. One month isn't nearly that bad!
- Ryan is going through a growth spurt. He eats more than Mike these days.
- On that note, Ryan had his first flag football practice tonight. I stayed home with the littler kids, but Mike took a couple of pictures for me which were hilarious. I'll post one for my picture of the day on my POD blog this weekend.
- Jason's hair is finally growing and it's looking more blond than red. I should start taking bets on what color hair he'll end up with. It seems to change, depending on the lighting.
- I despise shopping at Walgreen's. Every time I try to buy their sale items with coupons, there's an issue. They rarely have ample stock of the products in their ad, rainchecks are written, I forget that I can't use more coupons than items I'm purchasing, yet they "stack" store and manufacturer coupons, certain cashiers won't use coupons printed from the computer, things need to be voided, managers get involved...I always seem to leave there angry, wondering why I bother? Then 6 months later, I forget or see deals that can't be passed up, returning in shame to go through another traumatic experience. I'm a glutton for punishment.
- Jason was a sight at Hobby Lobby last week. He had a huge blowout as I pulled into the parking lot that took 25 minutes to clean up in their bathroom. We emerged with him wearing a fresh diaper, a bib and the one clean sock that escaped being covered in poo. Thank goodness I had a blanket with me to cover him - he looked so white trash! After the drama, he passed out in his car seat (half naked) and I got to shop for almost an hour.
- I was shocked and thrilled last weekend when I tried on my favorite pre-pregnancy jeans and they fit. Granted, the extra belly skin that I've developed (what is it with the third pregnancy and extra skin?) definitely spills over into an unattractive muffin top, but my hips and butt fit beautifully and they're so comfortable. These jeans are the prized possession of my closet and the most expensive clothing item I own. But I love them. I pet them. They're so soft. They fit like a dream. Oh, I have missed my Lucky jeans!
- I'm getting back into jogging...slowly. Last week, I started slow and trudged along for about 10 minutes before giving in and walking. Last night I went a bit longer, but jogged in 3-5 minute chunks. I'm working back up to my 30 minute goal from my 101 list.
- On that note, I've lost about 10 lbs since the cruise. I attribute it mostly to the Wii Active 6 week challenge, but I'm sure fasting from sugar has helped a few pounds melt away as well.
- The sugar fast is going great, by the way. I've taken Sundays off (totally legit - they're not included in the 40 days on Lent) and I always regret it. The first week, I had a warm chocolate chip cookie from my favorite bakery and it wasn't nearly as decedent as I remembered. The next week, I had syrup on my pancakes and spent the next 2 days RE-detoxing from sugar. I was so mad that I had to go through it all over again! Then this past Sunday, my big splurge was going to be healthier: vanilla yogurt with granola. But that night I was really craving chocolate, so I had pulled some chocolate chip banana bread out of the freezer that I made last week. It was so sweet that I couldn't even finish a full piece and I spent the next hour feeling sick to my stomach. It's amazing how quickly my body has decided to reject sugar.
