I haven't scrapbooked in months and since the baby's arrival; I feel SO behind! The poor kid doesn't have a single thing in his baby book and both other kids had pregnancy, ultrasound and baby shower pages done before they even arrived!
.
Winkflash is having a sale with 5 cent 4x6s and 10 cent 5x7s, so I took my childless time yesterday (Mike's parents took the bigger kids for NY Eve until last night) and made lists, sketches and descriptions of what I plan to scrapbook to get caught up. I ordered nearly 200 pictures to fill 35 pages. It's a good thing I blog about scrapbook-worthy events because most of the pictures I wanted to print were right here on my blog. I got a "mom's day off" from Mike for Christmas and as soon as my photos are delivered, I know how I'm spending my day!

I just love this picture of Kaylin. Now that I know how to use Photoshop a little better, I added some text to lots of the pictures before I sent them to print. Especially the larger ones: I put the titles in the empty space to save myself some time later. And I love how it looks! For my baby books, I always do a monthly review of pictures with accomplishments so I'm not scrapbooking every. little. thing. For the bigger kids, I do a seasonal page to sum up summer, fall, winter and spring. So what I did on the pictures for those layouts was print the highlight or accomplishment right on the picture. (in the case of the picture above, Kaylin started her first pre-school class this fall, so that's why that random text is on the right)

I love how they turned out! Again, I "borrowed" that idea from Becky Higgins. Of course, I'm not giving it back, though, so it's not technically borrowed. Why reinvent the wheel, right? I'll just stalk her and steal all of her ideas...
